They say that death come in threes

Let me start my commentary by saying that
entertainment Icons
like Etta James, Don Cornelius and just recently Whitney Houston is evidence
that having fame and fortune does not always bring happiness. These talents
only come around once in a life time. We happened to be witness to these
great talents come and pass away. I often wonder why fame and fortune seem
not to bring happiness to the person who is blessed with it. But
at the same time, brings happiness to millions of us who had the good
fortune to see them perform. I know that when I was informed of the passing
of all three of these icons, I was surprised. Don’t get me wrong, I
understand that no one is here forever but somehow I was surprised each
time. Virgie and I were riding in my car when the news of Whitney
Houston’s death was announced a few days ago. First the shock and then my
thoughts went back to the old saying that death comes in threes. I am so
glad of the fact that their work will be enjoyed by generations to come.

Manees I got chills the first time I saw Whitney sing this
song in "The Bodyguard." Hers was a talent for the ages. Thank God for
movies and recordings so that future generations can know her and hear her
fantastic God given talent.
Whitney, I'll always love you no matter what!
You gave so much to this world, you'll never be forgotten. Rest now my Dear,
you made this world a better place and for that I truly thank you.
I hope this is the end for at least a while of
death comes in threes, please let us with music and dance experience these
Icons

Two years ago today Michael left us. It's a day I will never forget. My granddaughter Zayna called to tell me, "Grandma, they are saying on the news that Michael Jackson is dead." The first thing I said to her was, "Zayna, that's not funny!" thinking it was another one of so many untrue rumors about him. Then she said, in one of the saddest voices I've ever heard her use, "Grandma, it's really true." My heart sank within me. I’ll always be grateful to Michael because he and his music got me through one of the loneliest periods of my life. Also, he was the inspiration for my first book, so, in a way, I owe my writing career to him. Rest in Peace, Michael. You will never be forgotten.
2010 Karaoke Millennium Awards: Comments
I’m so glad I was able to attend. I enjoyed myself tremendously. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was delicious not to mention the talent in the room was superb. Onenitestan is the place to go if you’re looking for a good time!
Sincerely,
The Ventour Family
Congratulations on another successful event. I am not surprised that the participants gave you an award. A lot of hard work is involved in preparing for such an event--especially when it is annual. People expect more from the event each year, and I am sure you do your best to provide more each year. You have a wonderful spirit, and I know the charities that benefit from your event, are grateful. Cheers to you, B.T.
I went to Baker's for the group talent contest a few weeks ago. It was fun to get out after so long. I ran into Rocky and Amando. I hadn't seen them for about one and a half years. The night scene doesn't seem to have changed much.
Well, take care. I'm sure I will run into you sooner or later.
Love,
JJ
Thanks, JJ Love to see you at the 2011 Karaoke Millennium Awards, much Love BT

Hello Karaoke People,
My name is Virgie and I like others that have written in the "OneNiteStan The Magazine" am a karaoke enthusiast. I've been around the karaoke scene since 1996 and have "karaoked" cross country on land and sea. I've seen great karaoke and not so great and I've basically loved every minute of it! I loved it so much that I decided to become a karaoke host and give back what was so freely given to me...JOY!
As a host, it's my job to make sure everyone is having a good time and to try and get people involved. I love to see people sing for the first time...sometimes they're shy and sometimes they belt out a song like they've done it many times before! In either case, after the "cherry popping" (so to speak) you watch them evolve into something magnificent and wonderful! It does my heart good!

Comments: Hi BT, I would like to tell you how impressed I am with
your Michael Jackson coverage in the OneNiteStan magazine. I really
enjoyed Virgie's thoughtful commentary on the passing of MJ. I agree
that we all should show love, respect and enjoy life as Mike did.
Thanks Virg for keeping the good memories of Mike alive and
reminding us all to show the positive things that Mike exemplified.
I wish that I could have seen the MJ contest :( Thanks for the
coverage of that as well.
Take care!
